Africa

Where do I begin? After spending five days in South Africa, Ciaran (one of our staff) and I drove one of our new trucks up to Zambia. Along the way we were able to see elephants and giraffes roaming in their natural habitat, it was really neat to see that. It took us about 36 hrs to get to the base, but we made it and I love it here in Zambia. I have seen some of the most amazing sunsets, right in our back yard. The moon and stars are amazing here, it is so clear and beautiful. To think that the God we serve has created all this beauty, I am blown away by what His hands have made. I was able to go with our UK team to Victoria Falls. I was told to leave anything that you don’t want to get wet in the truck, cause you will get soak. I had no idea that I really would get soaked, it was as if I went in a pool by the time I was done walking around. It is such a beautiful sight to see that is for sure, it was worth it. I’m glad I got the chance to see it.


My classes will start the beginning of May, and until they start I am helping out around the base, and enjoying a lot of time in the word. I love sitting at his feet, and allowing Him to teach me. I am seeing the word through different eyes, I have heard a lot of teachings from the word, but the Lord is showing me new and exciting things. I know that I am here for more then just taking classes & to become better equipped for the kingdom. God has a plan and a purpose, more then I know, so my trust is in Him! (Rom15: 13 NLT)
Says, ‘I pray that God, the source of hope. Will fill you completely with joy and peace because you TRUST in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit’

Right now I am by myself in a safari tent, waiting for the other girls to join me next month. Last year they drilled a well here on the base, so we are now able to drink the water right out of that tap, what a blessing! The weather is starting to cool off, which is nice, but I am such a Florida girl that I am freezing and it is not even winter here yet. I am gonna be in trouble! HA!

I want to share a little testimony with you all. I went through a period of freaking out because of my finances, but God really showed himself faithful. I always wonder why I panic so much when it comes to finances, because God has never left me with out everything that I need. Just weeks before I left I received a couple of phone calls from some friends that God had put me on their heart and they wanted to bless me with some finances. Their pastor had done a reverse tithe, and told his congregation to give it out to whom ever God tells you to. I was on the receiving end of three families from his church. Praise the Lord! I also had a friend of mine tell me she wanted to help pay for toiletries and all the little things that I would need for six months, well she ended up paying for everything I had in my cart that day. Again what a HUGE blessing! God was taking care of me in many ways! I got to the point just days before the phone calls that I just gave it up to God, I quit freaking out and just let go and let God have it all. Prov 3:5-6 says ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths’. This verse has always spoken volumes to me, we need to TRUST the Lord with ALL our heart…. Acknowledge Him….He will direct our path! God has definitely directed my path here to Zambia, even though all my finances are not in, I am where He has called me to be and I will TRUST him to take care of everything else that I need! I can’t do this with out Him, and He has already shown me so much. (Isaiah 40:31 is another favorite one)

I thank you all for standing with me in one way or another. God has used you to bless my life, and even though you are not here physically, you are here in spirit with me. I think of you often and pray that God blesses you all. I couldn’t be where I am with out the support of my family and friends!
